A very important part of the casting process is the melting. This melting of raw materials is performed at 1450-1500ยบ C in large capacity induction furnaces. The induction furnaces achieves that the molten metal is thermally and chemically more homogeneous.

In order to meet the technical, quality and price requirements of the wind power sector and with the objective of monitoring the manufacturing process of heavy iron castings, we have developed in collaboration with technological centres and universities specific software to predict defects. In this way we ensure metallurgical quality through chemical and thermal analysis which provides real time information on the graphite density in areas of the parts having different modules and the tendency of the metal to generate graphite malformations.
